Highlights from Reading Week

We had a great first ever Reading Week at Flint Hill Elementary! Students and staff celebrated a love of reading in a variety of ways.  There were dress-up spirit days, daily reading of the Dr. Seuss book "Oh The Places You'll Go" over the intercom, a "Breakfast with Books" event for students and families, and plenty of green screen videos to promote books and reading in the library.  The video above is of all of our kindergarten students talking about what they like about reading!

Fourth and fifth grade students who participated in reading the 2016-2017 Missouri Mark Twain Award Nominees had a special lunch in the library on Friday.  The Heros Club and Student Council were involved in helping plan the Breakfast with Books event.

We are proud of all of our Firebirds for making reading a priority!
