This information was current for the 2019-20 school year. Due to COVID-19 concerns, clubs are not starting yet for the 2020-21 school year. We will distribute information once we are able to safely offer our wide variety of clubs. Keep in mind that clubs are based on sponsor availability and are subject to change from year to year.

Flint Hill Elementary offers many opportunities for your child to be involved in extracurricular activities in the form of clubs. These clubs are based on student interest and are sponsored by teachers.  Please see below for various Firebird club opportunities! 

Color Palette.png  Art Club:  Are you creative? Do you love to draw, paint, sew or sculpt?  Our Art Club is sponsored by Mrs. LaRussa and takes place on select Monday afternoons from 3:40-5:00 p.m. in the art room (room 5).  This club is for fourth and fifth grade students. This year, students will be able to select from four different quarterly art topics: Printmaking, Fibers, Sculpture, and Digital Arts.

Bookworm.png Book Clubs:  We have three book clubs for our students.  Second and Third Graders will meet first semester on select Tuesday mornings at 7:30 AM with Mrs. Cevasco. Kindergarten and First Grade Book Club will meet with Mrs. Cevasco on select Tuesday mornings at 7:30 AM during second semester.
Fourth and Fifth Grade Book Club meets every other Wednesday morning before school from 7:40-8:25 AM. The sponsor for the 4-5 Book Club is Mrs. Jamieson.

Treble Staff With Notes.png  Choir Club:  The FHE Choir Club meets Tuesday mornings from 7:30-8:25 AM in the Music Factory.  This club is sponsored by Ms. Schneider and is for third, fourth, and fifth grade students.  We have several performances throughout the year including a Spring Concert.  

 Laptop.pngComputer Club:  Mrs. Schieffer is sponsoring Computer Clubs this year which will be held in three sessions. Fourth/Fifth grade Computer Club runs from September 4- November 20. Second/Third graders will meet from December through February and Kindergarten/First grade students will meet from March to May. All computer clubs meet on Wednesdays after school until 4:50 PM. 

 Recycle Blue Crystal Earth Globe.pngEarth Club:  Kindergarten through third grade students- if you love to learn about the environment and enjoy being outside in nature, then this is the club for you!  This club will meet on Thursday mornings 7:25-8:25 AM. Mrs. Schieffer is the sponsor of the Earth Club and she has created a website for this club.  Click here to visit the Earth Club website!

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Icon.png Hero's Club:  This is a community building club in which Fifth Grade students participate in a mentoring/friendship program with kindergarten and first grade students.  This club also helps organize special school activities such as the Veterans Day Assembly.  This club meets on select Monday mornings from 8:00-8:30 AM.  The sponsor is Mrs. Reed.  

Robot Dog.pngLego Robotics Club: Mr. Pflughaupt and Mrs. Bell are sponsoring Robotics Club for second through fith grade students this year. All meetings will be on Tuesday afternoons.

Child And Parent Crossing Road Sign.png Safety Patrol: Safety Patrol is a privilege extended to fourth and fifth grade students by their teachers.  Each fourth and fifth grade teacher selects 2-3 students per quarter to participate.  Safety Patrol members help students become safe pedestrians, model safe behavior, and develop qualities of leadership and citizenship. Meetings take place on select Friday mornings from 7:30-8:25 a.m.  Mrs. Tesdall is the Safety Patrol sponsor.

World Continents Colored.png Spanish Club:  The Spanish Club will learn various Spanish words and phrases and also will study the Spanish culture and traditions.  This club is open to third, fourth, and fifth grade students and will meet on select Thursday afternoons from 3:40-4:45 PM.  Mrs. Cevasco is the sponsor for this club.  

Community Symbol.png  Student Council:  Mrs. Cevasco is sponsoring Student Council this year and meetings will be held from 3:40-4:45 PM on select Tuesday afternoons. 

Illustration Of Books.jpg  Yearbook:  Mrs. Cevasco works with fourth and fifth grader to publish the annual yearbook.  Meetings will be held from 3:45-4:45 PM on Thursday afternoons and a more detailed schedule will be sent home with members.

Large Green Fireworks.pngMini Sparks Cheer Club is for first through fourth grade students interested in learning basic cheerleading skills. Ms. Scott will meet with Mini Sparks on select Wednesday mornings at 7:40 AM. Third and Fourth graders will meet first semester and First/Second grade students meet second semester.

Jogging Exercise.png Better Together is open to all grades and will meet on Fridays at 7:45 AM. Members will run a full marathon (26.2 miles) over the course of the year, running one mile on club mornings. The Better Together members will also be responsible for reading 26 books and doing "right" (good deeds) 26 times. Mrs. Reed, Mrs. Jamieson, and Mrs. Schieffer sponsor the club and there will be a small fee to cover supplies. (medals, t-shirts, journals, etc.) This year, grade levels will be split and students will meet every other week.

Molecule.png Storybook Science Club is for Kindergarten and First Grade students. Mrs. Reed will meet with Storybook Science members on select Wednesday afternoons from 3:40-4:25 PM and will present fun science activities tied to favorite storybooks. A $5 fee will help purchase materials.

abc 123 clipartKindergarten Club, or ABC/123 Club, is new this year and meets on Monday mornings beginning at 7:30 AM. The sponsor is Mrs. Weymouth.

Firebird mascotFirebird Fitness is new for the 2019-20 school year and is sponsored by Mrs. Bauer. The club meets on Wednesday mornings beginning at 7:40 AM.
